      DMCA & copyright policy

Leakly provides a clear channel for copyright owners to report allegedly infringing material. This page explains how notices work, what we need from you, and what happens after you submit a claim.

Submit a DMCA notice Notice checklist
Important: Only the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on the owner’s behalf should file a notice. False claims can create legal liability for the complaining party.

      1. Overview

Leakly respects the intellectual property rights of creators, studios, performers, and rights holders. We respond to valid copyright complaints consistent with the spirit of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and comparable notice-and-takedown frameworks used internationally.

If you believe content available on Leakly infringes a copyright you own or control, please send a complete notice using the instructions below. Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action.

      2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers material hosted or displayed through Leakly’s websites, apps, and related services, including:

      • Video pages, thumbnails, titles, and descriptions
      • Model / creator profile media when hosted by Leakly
      • User-generated text or uploads (when those features are enabled)

This policy does not replace court orders, local criminal reporting channels, or disputes that are not copyright-related (for example harassment or privacy complaints — use Contact).

      3. How to file a notice

You can submit a copyright complaint in either of these ways:

      1. Use our Contact form and select subject DMCA / copyright.
      2. Email [email protected] with the subject line DMCA Notice.

Please send one notice per set of related URLs when possible. Extremely large batches may be processed in stages. Keep a copy of your submission for your records.

      4. Required elements of a valid notice

To allow us to act, your notice should substantially include all of the following:

      • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (title, registration number if any, or a clear description).
      • Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the exact Leakly URL(s) where it appears.
      • Your contact information: full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
      • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
      • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
      • Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for electronic notices).
Notices that only say “remove my video” without URLs, ownership statements, or contact details usually cannot be processed.

      5. What happens after we receive a notice

      1. We acknowledge receipt when practical (email confirmations may expand as mail delivery is connected).
      2. We review the notice for completeness and whether the reported URLs exist on Leakly.
      3. Where appropriate, we disable access to the reported material or remove it pending further review.
      4. When we have contact details for the uploader / poster, we may forward a copy of the notice (with personal contact details limited as needed).
      5. We keep internal records of notices to support repeat-infringer enforcement.

Response times vary with volume and complexity. Urgent court orders or law-enforcement requests are handled through separate legal channels when properly served.

      6. Counter-notice

If your material was removed or disabled as a result of a copyright notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice containing:

      • Your physical or electronic signature
      • Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal
      • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification
      • Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or any judicial district in which Leakly may be found if outside the U.S.), and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant

Send counter-notices to [email protected] or via Contact. Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material unless the original complainant seeks a court order within the applicable period.

      7. Repeat infringers

Leakly may, in appropriate circumstances, disable or terminate accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We may also remove content, restrict uploads, or apply other measures when we believe it is necessary to protect rights holders or the integrity of the service.

      8. Misuse of the DMCA process

Knowingly materially misrepresenting that material is infringing — or that material was removed by mistake — may expose you to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Do not use DMCA notices to silence lawful speech, settle personal disputes, or pressure competitors without a genuine copyright claim.

      9. Designated copyright agent
